Building access
A one-bedroom takes less time to clean than a house. That part is easy. What makes apartment and condo work different is everything that happens before anyone picks up a cloth.
Managed buildings on the Peninsula and in San Francisco commonly require a certificate of insurance from a vendor before allowing access, and many high-rises ask for the service elevator to be reserved — often one to two weeks ahead. Some restrict vendor hours. Some have a loading dock with its own schedule, and parking that does not exist.
We are licensed and insured. If your building requires a certificate naming the building or the HOA, tell us on the first call and we will handle it before the visit.
The buildings that ask for this are usually the ones that turn people away without it. Worth raising early.
Tell us the answers once and we take it from there.
What changes
Apartments concentrate everything. The same amount of living happens in less square footage, which changes what needs attention.
One kitchen serves everything in a small home. It gets used harder and shows wear faster than the same kitchen in a house.
Less airflow means bathrooms hold moisture longer. Grout, fans and corners need more attention, not less.
Closets and cabinets are full to the edge. We clean around what is there and do not move what is not ours to move.
Open-plan layouts mean one surface runs through the whole unit. A missed section is visible from anywhere in the room.
